Account Services

All members of the Stern community are provided with three types of accounts: Novell, email, and web accounts. Before proceeding, please read NYU's Computing and Network Policy.

Usernames are assigned by NYU ITS (Information Technology Services) and can be found on the NYU ID as the NetID. Please visit start.stern.nyu.edu to activate your Stern account. Click here for a How-to-Guide on account activation.

Stern Novell Account

Novell accounts provide access to the Stern Novell network and Stern public computers. Accounts are automatically assigned to all Stern faculty, staff, and students who are enrolled in Stern courses.

Your Novell account provides access to Windows, Microsoft Office 07, the Internet, e-mail (1 GB of space), your H: drive (150 MB of space), and additional software packages, as well as access to network printers. It is important that you exit Windows to logout of your Novell account when you are finished working at an email station or public computer.

Stern Email Account

Intranet / E-mail accounts provide access to Stern's Connect webmail system, and various web based applications at the Stern School.

For more information on managing your email account, please see our Email Services page.

Stern Web Account

Each member of the Stern community is allotted 150MB of personal space for the storage of files on the web server. Please see the Web Usage Policy page for information regarding the terms of usage for this space.
